Mumbai: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group (SWRE) has announced the appointment of Chandra Kishore Thakur as its Global CEO, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the company’s strategy and operations across key geographies.
Thakur brings a wealth of expertise in integrating technology with agile project management. His leadership is expected to drive transformational growth for SWRE in the renewable energy sector.
Thakur joined SWRE in 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) – International Business, overseeing projects across MENA, Africa, and Latin America. Under his leadership, the company significantly strengthened its execution capabilities, helping SWRE become one of the world’s leading solar EPC solutions providers. Before joining SWRE, Thakur held key leadership positions such as President and Chief Executive Officer (Infrastructure and Power Business) at Punj Lloyd, and COO – EPC Vertical at Lanco Infratech. He began his career with NTPC, one of India’s leading energy conglomerates.
A Mechanical Engineer from NIT Jamshedpur with an MBA from IGNOU, Thakur holds the distinction of being India’s first A-level Portfolio Director from PMA/IPMA. He also serves as Vice President of PMA India, actively contributing to the advancement of project management knowledge across industries.
With Thakur at the helm, SWRE aims to further strengthen its position as a global leader in renewable energy solutions.
