New Delhi: Apple is developing AI-powered health coaching under “Project Mulberry,” a new feature expected to enhance its Health app. The initiative, currently in testing, aims to provide personalized health guidance using artificial intelligence.
AI-Powered Virtual Health Coach
Apple devices already track vital health metrics such as heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep patterns. However, the current system primarily records data without providing insights. With Project Mulberry, Apple plans to introduce AI-driven analysis to interpret user data and offer personalized advice on fitness, lifestyle improvements, and overall well-being.
The feature will integrate large language models (LLMs) to generate health recommendations. To improve accuracy, Apple is working with in-house medical experts and plans to bring in additional physicians to develop credible health content and educational resources.
Apple’s Growing Role in Digital Health
Apple has steadily expanded its presence in digital health, with devices like the Apple Watch already offering ECG monitoring, fall detection, and other health-tracking features. Project Mulberry signals a shift toward AI-assisted preventive healthcare, positioning Apple as a competitor in AI-driven wellness solutions.
While Apple has not announced a launch date, the project is reportedly in the testing phase. As AI adoption in healthcare grows, the integration of machine learning into wearable technology could influence how users manage personal health through real-time insights. Apple’s approach will likely focus on privacy and regulatory compliance, key concerns in digital health advancements.
