Udemy, Emtrain Join Hands as Firms Face Rising Compliance Scrutiny

New Delhi: Udemy has partnered with compliance training provider Emtrain to expand its workplace learning portfolio amid growing regulatory pressure on global enterprises.

The collaboration will integrate Emtrain’s compliance and workplace culture modules, covering areas such as data privacy, anti-harassment and AI governance into Udemy Business. The move comes as companies increasingly seek consolidated and skills-focused training solutions to manage tightening regulations and heightened organisational risks.

Udemy President and CEO Hugo Sarrazin said the partnership reflects a shift among enterprises toward dynamic, AI-enabled learning tools that can keep pace with evolving compliance requirements. Sarrazin noted that organisations are looking to optimise training costs while ensuring that employees develop competencies relevant to current regulatory expectations.

Research from Emtrain’s latest workplace culture report points to the need for more structured compliance practices. The study found that structured training helped reduce unhealthy workplace behaviours by 25% and improved adherence to cybersecurity and regulatory frameworks. However, 7% of employees still reported gaps in leadership and governance structures, indicating areas where organisations may need stronger support.

Emtrain CEO Janine Yancey said the demand for compliance training has surged, supported by a notable increase in harassment and discrimination complaints filed with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She added that the growing role of AI in workplaces is expected to intensify oversight challenges for employers.

Under the partnership, Emtrain will also collaborate with Udemy on enterprise opportunities that require a unified approach to skills development, combining technical, behavioural and compliance-driven learning.

The arrangement signals a broader trend of organisations consolidating training partners as they prepare for 2026, when regulatory frameworks and workplace culture expectations are likely to become more stringent.
