Gurgaon, 3 Apr, (CXO Media): Salesforce has partnered with Galgotias University to establish a Tableau AI-focused data lab on campus. The collaboration reflects a growing trend among Indian universities to integrate industry tools into academic programs as demand for data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) skills rises across sectors. Under the partnership, Galgotias University has set up a Salesforce Centre of Excellence – Tableau AI Data Lab aimed at offering students hands-on exposure to data analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled decision-making tools.
The lab will provide students access to enterprise-grade analytics platforms and structured learning modules aligned with industry workflows. University officials said the initiative will focus on practical training in business intelligence, data interpretation, and the use of AI-driven analytics tools rather than only theoretical learning. Faculty training sessions and guided workshops are also part of the rollout to support integration of these tools into existing academic programs.
Industry-academia collaborations around analytics and AI tools have increased in recent years as employers report shortages of job-ready data professionals. Analysts note that platforms such as Tableau are widely used in sectors including finance, healthcare, technology, and public administration, creating demand for graduates who can work with large datasets and generate actionable insights.
According to the university, the Centre of Excellence will be open to students from multiple disciplines, including business, technology, and healthcare-related programs. The institution expects the facility to support interdisciplinary use cases such as predictive analytics, operational dashboards, and digital decision-support systems.
Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, stated that the collaboration is intended to help students build applied data skills relevant to industry needs. He noted that as AI tools become more embedded in business processes, educational institutions are increasingly required to adapt curricula to match technological changes.
The partnership highlights a broader shift in higher education, where universities are investing in dedicated analytics labs and certification-driven programs to improve employability outcomes and align academic learning with industry technology ecosystems.
