New Delhj, Apr 23, (CXO Media): Swiggy has launched a developer programme to expand AI-led services across its platforms. The company introduced the Swiggy Builders Club, aimed at enabling developers and enterprises to build applications that can interact directly with its food delivery, grocery, and dining services.
Developer Access and AI Tools
The programme provides selected developers access to multiple MCP servers and more than 18 API tools. These tools allow developers to create AI-based applications capable of placing food orders, purchasing groceries through Instamart, and making dining reservations via Dineout. The infrastructure supporting the programme is built on Amazon Web Services, using services such as Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore.
Selective Participation Model
Swiggy has adopted an application-based entry model for the Builders Club. Developers and enterprises must undergo a review process before gaining access to the platform. The company said this approach is intended to maintain control over integrations and ensure the reliability of applications built within its ecosystem.
Strategy To Expand Platform Role
The launch indicates a broader shift in Swiggy’s technology strategy, as the company moves beyond operating consumer apps to enabling third-party integrations. By opening parts of its infrastructure to external developers, Swiggy is positioning its platforms to support emerging AI-driven commerce workflows, including automated ordering and service discovery. The move also reflects increasing competition among digital platforms to build ecosystems that extend beyond their core consumer services.
