In an exclusive interaction with CXO Media and APAC Media, Manish Chasta, Co-Founder and CTO of Eventus Security elaborates on cyber threat intelligence and the role of AI/ML in threat detection and response mechanism.
With over 18 years of experience in application and network security consulting, what initially drew you to the cybersecurity domain, and how has your perspective evolved over the years?
My journey into cybersecurity started with a strong curiosity about how systems work—and, more importantly, how they can be broken into. Early on, I was fascinated by the challenge of securing applications and networks, especially as businesses began relying more on digital platforms. Over the years, I’ve seen the threat landscape shift dramatically. What used to be simple malware attacks have now evolved into highly sophisticated AI-driven threats. This has changed my perspective: cybersecurity today isn’t just about defense; it’s about resilience, rapid response, and staying ahead of adversaries through intelligence and automation.
What are the solutions and services in the Eventus portfolio in India? Which are the verticals witnessing maximum traction in India, and what are their use cases? What is the proportionate contribution of these verticals to the topline?
In India, we offer a full spectrum of cybersecurity services, including Managed XDR, SOC as a Service, Cyber Resilience, Incident Response, and Threat Intelligence. We’re seeing the most traction in BFSI, healthcare, IT/ITES, and manufacturing, primarily because these sectors handle critical data and face stringent regulatory requirements. For example, banks rely on our SOC services to detect and mitigate fraud, while manufacturing firms use our security solutions to protect their industrial control systems from cyber threats. In terms of revenue contribution, BFSI and IT/ITES are currently the biggest drivers, followed by healthcare and manufacturing.
With AI-powered cyberattacks becoming increasingly sophisticated, how is Eventus leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance threat detection and response mechanisms?
Eventus recognizes the dual role of AI in cybersecurity—as both a tool for defense and a vector for advanced threats. To counteract evolving cyberattacks, our Eventus Platform integrates AI and machine learning at its core. This integration enables the Platform to process vast amounts of security data in near real-time, identifying complex attack patterns and anomalies that traditional methods might overlook. By leveraging machine learning, Eventus Platform continuously adapts to new threat landscapes, reducing false positives and prioritizing genuine threats.
Automation within the platform streamlines incident response, allowing for swift actions that minimize potential damage and ensure business continuity. This proactive approach ensures that enterprises are not just reacting to threats but are staying ahead of them, maintaining a robust security posture in an increasingly complex cyber environment.
Insider threats remain a major concern in cybersecurity. How does Eventus integrate Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) to detect and mitigate internal security risks?
Insider threats are tricky because they involve people who already have access to an organization’s systems. At Eventus, we use Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) to analyze user behavior, detect anomalies, and flag potential risks before they turn into full-blown security incidents. Our approach combines AI-driven behavioral analytics with real-time monitoring to identify suspicious activities, such as unusual login patterns or unauthorized data access. The key is to strike a balance—detecting real threats without disrupting normal business operations.
In an industry crowded with cybersecurity providers, what are the key differentiators of Eventus’ proprietary solutions, especially its Eventus Platform?
The Eventus Platform distinguishes itself through a unified and comprehensive approach to cybersecurity. Its scalable microservice architecture seamlessly integrates Identity and Access Management (IAM), multi-level authentication, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), ensuring robust security and compliance. The platform’s advanced Hyper-XDR capabilities enable sophisticated data correlation across multiple sources, providing deep insights into potential threats.
Additionally, the Security Data Lake offers a centralized repository for scalable, fail-proof data storage, enhanced by advanced indexing and AI/ML integration for real-time threat intelligence. Coupled with 24×7 monitoring from our Cyber Defence Center(CDC), the Eventus Platform delivers proactive threat mitigation and continuous security posture improvement, setting it apart in the cybersecurity landscape.
What are the key pillars of your GTM strategy? What are the key initiatives under this strategy? What is the channel network and structure that Eventus currently follows in India?
Our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy is built on three core pillars—technology innovation, strategic partnerships, and customer-centric service delivery. We focus on continuously enhancing our cybersecurity solutions to stay ahead of evolving threats while ensuring seamless integration for businesses. A key part of our approach is collaborating with technology partners and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to expand our market reach while maintaining direct engagement with enterprises.
In India, we operate through a hybrid model, combining direct sales with a strong partner network. This ensures that businesses of all sizes, from startups to large enterprises, have access to scalable, industry-specific cybersecurity solutions. Our ultimate goal is to make advanced security solutions more accessible, proactive, and tailored to meet the unique needs of different industries.
What is the proportion between retaining existing accounts and acquiring greenfield accounts for Eventus?
Customer retention and new acquisitions are both key to our growth. Right now, a significant portion of our revenue comes from existing clients, while the rest is driven by new business. Retaining customers is a priority for us—we focus on delivering value beyond just security services by providing continuous insights, proactive threat management, and tailored cybersecurity strategies. At the same time, we’re actively expanding into new markets and industries, bringing in fresh clients who need robust security solutions in today’s evolving threat landscape.
Where do you see Eventus in the next five years? What are the key technological innovations or industry disruptions that you anticipate shaping the cybersecurity landscape?
The next five years will bring massive changes to cybersecurity. With AI, automation, and the rise of quantum computing threats, organizations will need to rethink their security strategies. At Eventus, we are focused on becoming a global leader in managed security services by continuously innovating and expanding our Cyber Defence Centers. We see zero-trust architectures and AI-driven security automation playing a huge role in shaping the future. Our mission is to ensure that businesses—no matter their size—have access to cutting-edge security solutions that help them stay protected in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
