Samsung Rolls Out One UI 8 with New AI and Security Upgrades

Samsung Expands Appliance Warranty Coverage with New Samsung Care+ Plans

New Delhi: Samsung has launched One UI 8, its latest software update, alongside the Galaxy S25 series. The update marks a step forward in the company’s use of multimodal AI, combining personalization features with a stronger security framework.

The rollout will not be limited to the S25 lineup. Samsung confirmed that One UI 8 will extend to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 FE, and other eligible devices later this year. This approach reflects Samsung’s strategy to unify AI-driven features across its ecosystem rather than confining them to new flagship models.

Among the key updates is “Now Bar,” which displays real-time app activity and media playback on the Galaxy Z Flip’s FlexWindow while supporting more third-party apps. Another feature, “Now Brief,” aggregates personalized updates such as traffic information, reminders, and health insights from Galaxy Watch, while also curating recommendations for content consumption. These additions show Samsung’s focus on embedding AI into daily interactions rather than keeping it as a standalone tool.

Security remains central to the update. Samsung introduced Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which creates app-specific encrypted storage, limiting sensitive data access to the respective app. Knox Matrix builds on this by alerting users and even signing out devices if security risks are detected. The update also enhances Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography, designed to counter emerging cyber threats.

By integrating AI features with new security layers, Samsung appears to be positioning One UI 8 as both a productivity upgrade and a response to rising privacy concerns. The timing of the release, coinciding with the next flagship Galaxy series, suggests the company is seeking to balance innovation with trust at a moment when competition in mobile AI is intensifying.
