Easebuzz Partners with Indian Army’s Bombay Sappers to Support Education of Veer Naris’ Children

Pune: Easebuzz has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army’s Bombay Sappers to extend educational assistance to the children of Veer Naris — widowed women from defence families. The collaboration, formalised in Pune, focuses on enabling access to quality education and skill development opportunities for students from these families.

Under the agreement, Easebuzz will provide financial assistance to students identified by the Bombay Sappers Association. The initiative aims to help the beneficiaries continue their schooling and higher education, along with promoting skill-based learning that enhances employability. The programme will be monitored by the Bombay Sappers to ensure transparent and effective implementation.

Lieutenant General Vikas Rohella noted that the Indian Army remains committed to the welfare of its personnel and their families, and this partnership strengthens efforts to support the educational aspirations of Veer Naris’ children.

Amit Kumar, Director and CTO of Easebuzz, said the company’s participation reflects its effort to contribute meaningfully to defence families under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. The initiative aligns with Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013, which recognises education and welfare of armed forces dependents as key CSR activities.

The Bombay Sappers, one of the oldest regiments of the Indian Army, will oversee the selection process to ensure assistance reaches deserving students. The collaboration underscores growing private sector engagement in welfare-driven initiatives for defence communities, marking an example of how CSR programmes can be structured to address social and educational needs in a targeted manner.
