New Delhi: Figma has introduced three AI-enabled image editing tools to help Indian design teams streamline routine visual tasks and reduce reliance on external software. The rollout comes as organisations across e-commerce, digital marketing and product design handle growing volumes of visual content for mobile-first audiences.
The new capabilities — Erase Object, Isolate Object and Expand Image are designed to support common production needs. Erase Object allows users to remove unwanted elements from product or campaign visuals, a frequent requirement for online retail and D2C brands. Isolate Object enables designers to separate a subject from its background to create adaptable assets for multichannel campaigns without shifting to dedicated editing tools. Expand Image helps teams extend image backgrounds to fit various screen ratios and social media formats, making it easier to repurpose a single visual across multiple platforms.
The updates reflect a broader shift towards integrated design environments that reduce context switching and shorten revision cycles. With Indian design teams managing tight timelines and diverse platform requirements, consolidated tools can support faster iterations and improve asset consistency.
The features are available to Figma users in India across Professional, Organisation and Enterprise plans with AI access enabled.
