Noida: Electronics manufacturing services firm Bhagwati Products Limited has taken on lease about 430,000 square feet of space at the manufacturing facility of Oppo India in Noida, a move aimed at expanding smartphone production capacity in the country.
According to transaction records from Propstack, the company has agreed to pay a monthly rent of Rs 1.04 crore for a chargeable area of 430,400 sq ft. The lease agreement runs for 58 months, with a 5 per cent escalation in rent after two years.
The leased premises are located on the first, second and third floors of Building F4 at Oppo’s mobile manufacturing facility in Sector Ecotech 7.
The development comes as Oppo continues to explore partnerships to strengthen local manufacturing in India. The Chinese smartphone brand is among the few major handset makers yet to formalise a long-term domestic manufacturing collaboration.
Bhagwati Products, through its joint venture with Chinese manufacturing company Huaqin Technology, produces smartphones for several brands, including Vivo and Oppo.
The transaction also reflects the sustained demand for commercial and industrial space across the National Capital Region (NCR). In recent weeks, multiple large leasing deals have been recorded in the region.
For instance, the global capability centre of MetLife recently leased around 75,000 sq ft at Oxygen Business Park, owned by Embassy Office Parks REIT. Meanwhile, technology firm IBM secured about 230,000 sq ft at Intellion Park, a commercial development by Tata Realty and Infrastructure.
