As the incumbent CEO, Akshaya Moondra, nears the end of his three-year term in August 2025, Vodafone Idea Ltd (Vi) has begun the process of finding a new CEO.
Moondra was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Idea Cellular from June 2008 to August 2018 before being appointed CEO. He was instrumental in arranging the 2018 Vodafone India-Idea Cellular merger.
Industry insiders claim that the corporation is taking into account applicants from industries including technology and consumer products, highlighting the significance of having a solid grasp of distribution networks.
The task of revitalizing Vi’s market position in the face of fierce competition from rivals like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel will fall to the next CEO.
Industry watchers will be closely monitoring Vi’s strategic measures to reclaim market share and solidify its place in India’s ever-changing telecom ecosystem as the search for a new CEO continues.
