Bengaluru: Boeing has named Stacie Sire as the new Vice President and Managing Director of the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC), as well as Chief Engineer for Boeing India. Her appointment follows the transition of Ahmed Elsherbini to a global role as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Head of Boeing Global Engineering.
This leadership change comes at a time when Boeing is streamlining its engineering operations worldwide, with India playing a growing role in the company’s broader strategic plans.
Engineering Transition Reflects Global Strategy Shift
Sire, who has relocated to Bengaluru for the role, now oversees BIETC’s engineering strategy and operations. The center has become a significant part of Boeing’s global engineering footprint, supporting complex aerospace and defense programs.
With over 27 years at Boeing, Sire brings experience across various engineering disciplines, including structural and propulsion systems, airplane integration, and manufacturing engineering. Her previous responsibilities included leading engineering teams for aircraft such as the 787 and 777, and more recently, overseeing structures engineering and fabrication for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Her appointment is seen as part of Boeing’s continued efforts to deepen its engineering capabilities in India, a country where the company sources over $1.25 billion annually and works with more than 300 local suppliers.
India’s Growing Role in Boeing’s Engineering Ecosystem
India hosts nearly 7,000 Boeing employees, with an additional 13,000 working through supply chain partners. The BIETC, headquartered in Bengaluru, plays a central role in research, systems integration, and advanced technology development for Boeing’s global programs.
Sire’s dual role is expected to align Indian operations more closely with Boeing’s global engineering roadmap. She is tasked with enhancing BIETC’s technical capabilities and ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and production goals.
