Pune: Tata Elxsi and Bayer have launched a global radiology technology centre in Pune to strengthen the development of advanced medical devices for early diagnosis and treatment. The facility, known as the Bayer Development Centre in Radiology, integrates research, design, and validation processes under one roof, a move expected to reduce development timelines, optimise costs, and ensure adherence to international regulatory standards. The centre will initially focus on molecular imaging technologies, a key area in detecting and managing complex diseases.
Bayer aims to use the centre to expand its portfolio of radiology solutions for global markets, including the United States and Europe. Tata Elxsi will support this effort with its expertise in healthcare engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and regulatory processes. The partnership also draws on India’s technology ecosystem, which offers access to specialised talent, laboratories, and regulatory networks that can support the scale-up of global healthcare solutions.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Konstanze Diefenbach, Head of Research & Development, Radiology, Bayer, said the new centre provides access to specialised engineering capabilities that can accelerate development while maintaining quality and reliability standards. Sreevatsa Sahasranaman, Senior Vice President and Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at Tata Elxsi, added that the collaboration combines Bayer’s radiology expertise with Tata Elxsi’s design and regulatory knowledge to deliver solutions that address real-world diagnostic challenges.
