Reliance Forms New AI Arm to Build Data Centres, Services for India

Superteams.ai Launches NextNeural Platform with 100+ AI Agents for Indian Enterprises

New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has launched a wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Limited, to expand its presence in the Artificial Intelligence sector. The company confirmed in a stock exchange filing that it received its certificate of registration from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 9. The announcement follows Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s remarks at RIL’s Annual General Meeting in August, where he outlined plans to establish a dedicated AI venture.

The subsidiary will focus on developing large-scale AI infrastructure, forging international partnerships, creating services tailored to the Indian market, and building a skilled talent base. A central element of the initiative is the construction of gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data centres, which will be powered by Reliance’s renewable energy ecosystem. Work on the first such facility is underway in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and is expected to contribute to India’s growing need for high-capacity computing and national-level AI training and inference capabilities.

The launch comes at a time when global and domestic technology companies are increasing their investments in AI infrastructure, data centres, and research hubs to strengthen competitiveness in the sector. Reliance’s move positions it alongside other players seeking to capture opportunities in the expanding AI economy. At the AGM, succession planning within the conglomerate was also underscored, with Ambani’s children presenting their respective growth strategies for telecom, retail, and energy businesses. The new subsidiary reflects Reliance’s broader attempt to align its next phase of growth with the rising importance of AI in both domestic and global markets.
