Cummins India Onboards Ashish Thakur as Chief Information Officer

Pune: Cummins India has appointed Ashish Thakur as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies that drive business transformation and enhance operational efficiency.

With 17 years of experience in the manufacturing and automotive industries, Ashish has been instrumental in leading digital transformation initiatives. His expertise includes digitization, strategic leadership, and leveraging technology for business growth.

Before his appointment as CIO, Ashish served in multiple leadership roles at Cummins India. He was the Business Technology Leader managing IT for first fit, aftermarket, and supply chain operations. Prior to that, as IT Director, he led digital initiatives for Distribution, New & Recon Parts, and CRM capabilities.

From 2011 to 2018, Ashish worked at Tata Technologies as an Engagement Manager, spearheading digital transformation across global projects. His responsibilities included designing digital roadmaps, implementing advanced analytics, and integrating cloud computing and machine learning.

Ashish holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Bharati Vidyapeeth and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (IT and Marketing) from Europe Asia Business School.

As Cummins India’s CIO, Ashish is expected to accelerate IT-driven innovations to optimize business operations and strengthen digital infrastructure. His leadership is anticipated to play a crucial role in transforming Cummins India’s IT ecosystem to align with the company’s strategic goals and future growth.
