Gurugram: Swiggy has recently deployed the data streaming platform from Confluent to power it’s operational and analytics system. This solution will enable Swiggy to efficiently manage real-time the humongous data it generates.
In both food and grocery delivery, domains where Swiggy operates, consumers seek convenience plus instantaneous precise and reliable services. This translates to synchronizing providers and delivery partners to address billions of customers across 700 cities.
Consequently, Swiggy migrated from open source Apache platform to Confluent freeing up resources from constant maintenance and management of data infrastructure.
This also enabled Swiggy to efficiently manage asynchronous communications across its services to actually calculate the precise delivery time for each customer based on location. Swiggy can also map out its data lineage to better identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies, streamlining complex workflows and improving system efficiency
Most critically, this enables Swiggy to handle significant surges in orders with elastic scaling, ensuring uninterrupted and seamless services during high-demand periods.
