Panjim: In a bid to position itself among Asia’s top 25 start-up destinations by 2025, the Government of Goa has unveiled an ambitious roadmap to transform the state into a hub for high-value entrepreneurship.
The vision focuses on making Goa an aspirational base for both geographical and human resources, attracting the country’s best entrepreneurial minds to establish their professional base in the coastal state.
The initiative aims to build a robust start-up ecosystem by offering dedicated assistance to local entrepreneurs and fostering at least 100 successful start-ups within the next five years. This is expected to generate employment for a minimum of 5,000 Goans.
Under the program, a start-up will be defined as an entity incorporated or operating in Goa for up to 10 years, with an annual turnover not exceeding Rs 100 crore in any of the preceding financial years, and registered as a Private Limited Company, Partnership Firm, or Limited Liability Partnership.
Officials say the move will not only empower local talent but also attract national and international founders to invest, innovate and grow from Goa.
