Bengaluru: Ekart, a supply chain company, has partnered with IKEA to manage last-mile deliveries of home furnishings in North India. The collaboration aims to improve delivery speed, integrate electric vehicles (EVs), and enhance operational efficiency.
Focus on Faster and Sustainable Deliveries
Ekart will handle deliveries from IKEA India’s fulfillment hub in Delhi-NCR, ensuring that most orders reach customers within 24 hours. The logistics firm plans to use real-time tracking for better transparency and customer experience. IKEA has emphasized the role of EVs in its expansion, aligning with its global EV100 sustainability goals.
Logistics Capabilities and Expansion Plans
Ekart, which supports logistics for over 400 retail brands, will apply its experience in full-truckload (FTL), part-truckload (PTL), and warehousing to streamline IKEA’s supply chain. The company operates a fleet of over 7,000 trucks and delivers to 15,000 pin codes across India.
Mani Bhushan, Chief Business Officer at Ekart, stated that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to transparency and sustainability in supply chain operations. Saiba Suri, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager at IKEA India, highlighted that EV-led deliveries are central to IKEA’s expansion strategy in North India.
