New Delhi: A significant investment of $50 million (about Rs 430 crore) over the next five years has been announced by Medtronic plc, a leader in healthcare technology, to build and grow its Diabetes Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, India.
The recently opened facility is intended to serve Medtronic’s worldwide diabetes business by fostering innovation, improving patient care, and achieving operational excellence. In addition to enhancing the company’s worldwide reach, this project emphasises India’s developing position as a key hub for IT and healthcare technology.
“In recent years, India has firmly established itself as a leading global IT hub. The incredible depth of talent in Pune and across India aligns with our purpose—to support people living with diabetes with solutions that truly make life easier,” said Que Dallara, EVP and President, Medtronic Diabetes.
Over 300 new jobs in software development, service delivery and patient financial operations are anticipated to be created in the Pune GCC in its first year, with ambitions to treble that number in four years.
Apart from fostering innovation in diabetes care, the centre will be essential in improving worldwide support networks, expediting patient financial services and facilitating the provision of state-of-the-art diabetes management solutions.
