Vinay Razdan Bids Adieu to HDFC Bank as CHRO

Vinay Razdan, after seven years at HDFC Bank, has resigned as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective 18 June .

Mumbai: Vinay Razdan, HDFC Bank’s chief human resources officer (CHRO), has resigned, effective 18 June.

The HDFC bank announced in a regulatory statement that Razdan’s resignation had been accepted, effective as of 18 June at the end of business hours. His reason for leaving was not made public. Razdan’s successor has not yet been announced by HDFC Bank.

Razdan has been the CHRO for seven years, having joined HDFC Bank in 2018. He had previously worked in the same capacity at Idea Cellular. Since joining Idea in 2006, he has led several revolutionary projects.

In his letter of resignation dated 2 June, Razdan stated that, unless the bank directed him otherwise, he would serve a three-month notice term and then go on “gardening leave,” which is a procedure in which workers are released from active activities during the notice period.

Razdan is a 30-year HR expert with extensive, diverse and rich experience in industries like telecommunications, IT services and FMCG. He has held executive roles at prestigious companies like Idea Cellular Ltd., HCL Technologies and ITC Ltd. Some of these organisations were recognised as excellent places to work under Razdan’s direction.

Razdan graduated from Delhi University and went on to earn a master’s degree from XLRI, Jamshedpur, in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations.
