Swiggy Launches Food Delivery Service on Trains Across 115 Stations

Swiggy launches food delivery on trains across 115+ stations, offering 5,000+ dishes, a Pure Veg menu for festivals and discounts up to 60% to serve passengers during long journeys.

New Delhi: Swiggy has launched food delivery services on trains, providing passengers with access to meals at over 115 railway stations. The move comes ahead of the festive season, when rail travel and demand for on-board dining typically increase.

Passengers can choose from over 5,000 dishes and have them delivered directly to their seats. The company has also introduced Easy Eats, a menu of pre-packed options such as salads, fries and nachos designed for easier consumption during travel.

To cater to dietary preferences during festivals like Navratri, Swiggy has launched a dedicated Pure Veg section with 100% vegetarian meals. The platform has further added an Offer Zone, providing discounts of up to 60% at select restaurants across participating stations.

Analysts say the expansion reflects a wider trend among food delivery platforms to move into transport-linked markets such as trains and highways. These services aim to reach passengers who have limited access to reliable catering options during long journeys.

By extending to railway routes, Swiggy is seeking to diversify its customer base and strengthen its presence beyond conventional urban markets. The initiative positions the company to capture seasonal demand while testing long-term opportunities in mobility-focused food services.
