Mappls Adds Multimodal Public Transport Routes Across Key Indian Cities

Mappls has launched multimodal public transport routes, allowing users to access metro, rail and bus information within the app across major Indian cities.

New Delhi: Mappls, the digital mapping and navigation app developed by MapMyIndia, has expanded its services with the launch of multimodal public transport routes, enabling users to access metro, rail and bus information within the app.

The company said the new feature integrates public and private transport options to offer a more comprehensive mobility experience.

With the update, users can view public transport routes, stations, stops and interchange points, helping them plan more efficient and sustainable journeys.

The feature is currently available in select cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Kochi, among others.

“The launch of multimodal public transport routes on the Mappls App is a direct outcome of listening to our users. We want the app to be more inclusive and accessible,” said Rakesh Verma, Co-founder, Chairman and Managing Director of MapmyIndia Mappls.

The capability is live on the iOS and web versions of the app, with an Android rollout planned soon.

Mappls said its user base has crossed 40 million, adding that the expanded public transport support builds on existing features such as turn-by-turn navigation and real-time traffic updates, while encouraging wider adoption of mass transit.
