One prominent tactic is to create fake betting platforms. These are normally hosted on newly created domains with slight spelling variations.
These sites often disappear shortly making it difficult to verify them or recover funds. Users are encouraged to create Betting IDs but asked to verify through WhatsApp instead of proper procedure.
The fraudulent platforms exploit urgency prompting users to act quickly without verification. The use of WhatsApp is a key red flag. Legitimate serviced follow secure on-boarding process.
