Mohali: Indian IT major Infosys is set to expand its presence in Punjab with a new campus in Mohali, involving an estimated investment of Rs 300 crore.
The project will be developed on 30 acres of land, according to Punjab Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora.
In the first phase, the company will construct 3 lakh square feet of area, generating 2,500 new jobs in the city. The next phase will add another 4.8 lakh square feet of development.
Government Support
Arora highlighted that Punjab’s push for faster approvals and investor-friendly initiatives has been attracting major investments. He noted that the government is clearing industrial project approvals within 45 days, reflecting the state’s commitment to ease of doing business. Infosys has also acknowledged strong support from the Punjab government in enabling the expansion.
Company Perspective
Sameer Goel, head of the company’s Mohali centre, stated that Infosys has had a long-standing presence in the region and the expansion reflects its confidence in Mohali as a strategic hub.
