Bengaluru: Snowflake, a global AI Data Cloud company, has joined hands with Nasscom’s FutureSkills Prime initiative to train 100,000 students and professionals in data and AI skills over the next two years. The initiative aims to bridge India’s data talent gap by offering free, on-demand courses through the government-backed digital skilling platform.
Addressing India’s Data Talent Gap
India leads in AI skills penetration and ranks among the top countries globally in AI talent concentration. However, the demand for skilled professionals continues to outpace supply, with an estimated shortfall of 51%. By 2026, India’s AI and data science job market is expected to exceed one million professionals.
Through this collaboration, Snowflake’s training modules will be available to students from over 2,100 institutions under Nasscom’s academic network. The courses will be integrated into university curricula, following the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines. Working professionals can also access these modules to enhance their skills in data engineering, AI, and machine learning (ML).
Six Learning Modules for Data and AI Professionals
The partnership brings six structured learning modules covering data analytics, cloud computing, and AI-driven applications. These programs cater to learners at different career stages, from beginners to advanced professionals, offering role-based pathways for data analysts, engineers, architects, and ML specialists.
The training includes:
Self-Paced Learning: Flexible online courses with real-world applications
Hands-on Labs: Practical training with Snowflake’s AI and data platform
Entry-Level Training: Foundational knowledge in SQL, data management, and AI
Role-Specific Learning Paths: Tailored courses for professionals in different data roles
The courses align with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), enabling students to earn university credits. Learners who complete the modules will receive certifications from both Nasscom and Snowflake.
