New Delhi: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) has appointed Ajit Pratap Singh as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and key managerial personnel (KMP), effective 24 March 2025. Singh replaces interim CFO Sandeep Mathew, who will continue as the company’s head of investor relations.
Leadership Transition at SWREL
The company’s board approved Singh’s appointment, bringing in his extensive financial and strategic management experience. He has held leadership positions at Transrail Lighting, OPG Power Generation, Vedanta Aluminium and JSW Bengal Steel.
Singh holds multiple academic and professional qualifications, including a BSc and LLB from Kanpur University, an MSc in Finance and a PG Diploma in Business Administration. He has also completed a Strategic Management program at IIM Kashipur and is a certified management accountant.
Strategic Move Amid Industry Challenges
SWREL, a global renewable energy engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions provider, is making this leadership change at a time when India’s renewable energy sector is navigating policy shifts and increased competition. Singh’s financial expertise is expected to play a key role in the company’s growth strategy.
As Singh takes over financial operations, the company will focus on managing project costs, securing funding, and navigating regulatory challenges in the renewable energy market. With this transition, SWREL aims to strengthen its financial leadership while maintaining stability in investor relations under Mathew’s continued role.
