Mumbai: Waaree Group has announced the appointment of Amit Paithankar as the Wholetime Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Waaree Energies Limited. Paithankar, who previously served as the CEO of Waaree, brings over two decades of experience in driving growth, innovation, and sustainability in the energy sector.
Before joining Waaree, Paithankar was the Group President and a Member of the Management Board at ReNew, where he played a key role in expanding the company’s renewable energy footprint. He has also served as Managing Director – South Asia at Emerson Electric, where he led strategic initiatives in the region.
Paithankar holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF). He is also an alumnus of VJTI, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
In his new role, Paithankar will focus on accelerating Waaree Energies’ growth in the renewable energy sector, strengthening its position as a leader in solar manufacturing and clean energy solutions. His appointment comes at a crucial time as India continues its transition toward sustainable and renewable energy sources.
