Mumbai: Sun Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company, has announced the appointment of Shaik Barak Tulla as Senior Vice President. With over 25 years of extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Shaik Barak Tulla brings with him a proven track record of driving business transformation, strategic growth, and operational excellence.
Prior to joining Sun Pharma, Shaik Barak Tulla held several leadership positions at Cipla, one of India’s top pharmaceutical firms. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Head for Cipla’s Acute Cluster, he was responsible for a business size of Rs. 1,800 crore (~$225 million), leading seven business units and managing a workforce of 2,500 employees. Under his leadership, Cipla’s Acute Cluster delivered consistent market-beating growth, launched several high-performing new products, and built resilient business models focused on customer engagement and talent transformation.
Earlier, as Vice President and Cluster Lead of Cipla’s Nebulization Respiratory division, he led three business units contributing 42% to Cipla’s respiratory segment with total P&L responsibility of $110 million. His deep understanding of institutional sales, government business, and hospital engagement strategies will be valuable for Sun Pharma’s future growth plans.
