Bengaluru: Wipro Limited has announced the launch of its GitHub Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. This initiative is part of Wipro’s broader ai360 strategy, aimed at integrating artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations.
Accelerating Innovation Through Collaboration
The newly launched GitHub CoE is designed to serve as a central hub for GitHub-related innovations across the company. Leveraging advanced tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft M365, the CoE will empower development teams to enhance collaboration, learning, and overall efficiency. This integration aims to boost developer productivity and innovation at scale, ultimately delivering greater value to clients.
Building an AI-First Culture
Sanjeev Jain, Chief Operating Officer of Wipro Limited, emphasised the company’s commitment to fostering an AI-first culture. “The launch of our GitHub CoE highlights our commitment to championing a culture of an AI-first mindset with the right skillset and toolset amongst our workforce,” Jain stated.

Empowering Developers Through Learning and Community
To build deep GitHub expertise across teams, the CoE will offer a range of learning initiatives, including workshops, hackathons, codeathons, and internal meetups. A dedicated team of AI champions will receive specialised training and support to drive adoption.
The CoE will also foster a strong Community of Practice, enabling cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing through GitHub Champions and subject matter experts. This effort will help standardise development practices, ensure faster delivery, and improve solution quality for clients globally.
