New Delhi: Naveen Tahilyani, the MD and CEO of Tata Digital, the digital division of the Tata Group, resigned from his position just 15 months after assuming it, according to reports.
After taking over as founding CEO in February 2024 from Pratik Pal, Tahilyani has now advanced to a more expansive global leadership position with UK-based Prudential Plc, where he will oversee the Health division and act as regional CEO for India, Africa, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
He was personally chosen by Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran to revive the failing company. He was a seasoned Tata veteran who had previously headed Tata AIA Life Insurance. However, according to people with knowledge of the situation, he encountered opposition to his attempts to unify the several business divisions under a single digital roof.
According to reports, independent verticals were reluctant to give up control of their digital strategies, which prevented them from working together across functional boundaries and created a lack of synergy.
