New Delhi: Autodesk has announced the launch of a customised design technology solution for India’s public sector. The ‘BIM Package for Viksit Bharat’ is a Building Information Modelling (BIM) suite designed specifically for Indian engineers, architects, and policymakers.
The announcement was made at the Autodesk Viksit Bharat Summit in New Delhi by Ashish Kumar Mittal, Director of Public Sector, and Alok Sharma, Director of Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) at Autodesk India & SAARC.
- India-specific BIM features
The newly launched BIM suite includes customised features for two of Autodesk’s flagship solutions, Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Civil 3D, with India-based ‘countrification’ toolsets.
Revit, which is widely used by architects, structural engineers, and MEP professionals, now integrates Indian-standard components and templates aligned with the latest Delhi Schedule of Rates (DSR). This will simplify the design process, improve cross-disciplinary collaboration, and reduce rework for residential and commercial buildings.
Civil 3D, aimed at civil engineers and infrastructure consultants, will support design standards from the Indian Road Congress (IRC), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and Indian Railways (IRS). The updates enable faster and more accurate road and rail project designs with automated workflows that reduce manual effort.
- Supporting India’s Tech-Driven Infrastructure Push
The launch comes as India’s infrastructure sector is rapidly adopting AI, Generative Design, and Digital Transformation to meet rising demands for scale, speed, and sustainability. According to Autodesk’s 2025 State of Design & Make report, 52% of Indian organizations are already using AI to achieve sustainability goals.
With this BIM package, Autodesk aims to further accelerate this digital shift by offering India-specific tools that help streamline project delivery and support the nation’s infrastructure development goals.
