New Delhi: Zubin Pallia has been promoted by Tata Steel to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for India Manufacturing, with effect from July 2025. Pallia, who will be based in Jamshedpur, will oversee the Industrial Relations (IR) and Human Resources (HR) division for Tata Steel’s vast Indian manufacturing network.
Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Pallia wrote: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as CHRO – India Manufacturing at Tata Steel!” In his new role, Pallia will drive workforce excellence across Tata Steel’s key manufacturing hubs in Jamshedpur, Kalinganagar and Meramandali, as well as its engineering projects, commercial operations, finance and profit centres.
Additionally, he will oversee the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for contract workforce management across multiple locations and concentrate on improving industrial relations. Pallia previously held the position of Chief-Group HR & IR at Tata Steel, where he oversaw strategic operations related to employee relations, HRM legal, talent acquisition, performance management, total rewards, leadership development and cultural transformation.
