New Delhi: NetScout Systems has rolled out artificial intelligence-powered enhancements to its Arbor Edge Defense and Arbor Enterprise Manager platforms, aiming to strengthen enterprise-level DDoS mitigation capabilities. The updates reflect a broader shift in the cybersecurity sector toward automation and intelligence-driven threat management.
A core addition includes the deeper integration of NetScout’s ATLAS Intelligence Feed, which monitors over 700 terabits per second of global internet traffic across 500 ISPs and 2,000 enterprises in more than 100 countries. Leveraging machine learning, the feed helps identify emerging DDoS threats in real time and distributes actionable intelligence directly to Arbor systems, enabling preemptive blocking of a significant portion of attacks.
New capabilities such as scoped user access provide tiered visibility across operational teams and site-specific environments. Additionally, the platforms now support automated detection and blocking of IP protocol flood attacks, a vector increasingly used in large-scale disruptions.
The dashboard and reporting tools have also been updated to provide a more detailed, real-time overview of threat activity and system response. These updates aim to streamline incident response and enhance communication between technical teams and leadership.
Industry data from IDC highlights the stakes: 41% of organizations surveyed reported financial losses exceeding $100,000 due to cyberattacks, while 5% faced damages surpassing $1 million.
As cyberattacks grow more sophisticated, organizations are increasingly adopting AI-based systems to keep pace. NetScout’s latest enhancements reflect this industry trend, focusing on operational efficiency, early threat detection, and scalable network defense.
