Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based cloud telephony provider Exotel has launched AgentStream, a programmable voice infrastructure designed to support AI-powered voice agents in enterprise operations. The platform enables real-time voice streaming with latency under 20 milliseconds, significantly lower than the industry average of 150 milliseconds, to facilitate faster and more natural automated conversations.
AgentStream connects AI voice bots to users across multiple channels, including PSTN, WhatsApp, in-app platforms, and WebRTC. It is intended to enhance workflows in areas such as sales, customer support, collections, and service delivery, where rapid response times are critical. Exotel said that a majority of voice bot providers in India already depend on its infrastructure for compliant and reliable streaming.
The company reports a 25% month-on-month growth in voice streaming usage, with some large clients handling over 20 million conversations monthly through its systems. Backed by a Unified License Virtual Network Operator (UL-VNO) presence in 11 telecom circles, Exotel offers integrated telephony and AI infrastructure, enabling enterprises to deploy AI communication tools without additional voice service providers.
Operating in India’s digital communications space for over a decade, Exotel facilitates more than 25 billion voice interactions annually for over 7,000 enterprises, including Apollo 24|7, HDFC Securities, and MG Motor. The company is also expanding into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, targeting regions with increasing demand for AI-driven customer engagement.
With AgentStream, Exotel aims to strengthen its role as a core infrastructure provider for enterprises adopting AI-powered real-time voice communication.
