NetApp, Nasscom Foundation Partner to Launch AI and Data Science Skilling Program

New Delhi: NetApp has announced a multi-year partnership with the Nasscom Foundation to launch a comprehensive skilling program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science.

The initiative was unveiled in Bengaluru in the presence of George Kurian, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NetApp, and Rostow Ravanan, Chairperson of Nasscom Foundation.

The program is designed to equip engineering graduates from underserved and resource-constrained communities with the technical and professional skills needed to succeed in the digital economy.

In its first phase, the training will target participants from Karnataka and Delhi, providing them with access to in-demand knowledge in data science and AI.

Building a Future-Ready Workforce

NetApp emphasized that its collaboration with the Nasscom Foundation is rooted in a shared goal of building a future-ready workforce. The partnership focuses on developing an industry-aligned curriculum that combines technical expertise with employability skills. This initiative aims to nurture AI talent at scale while reinforcing Nasscom Foundation’s broader skilling ecosystem.

Participants will undergo 120 hours of technical training covering Python, data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning. The curriculum also includes NetApp-curated sessions on Kubernetes, persistent storage, and AI infrastructure. To ensure holistic development, trainees will receive 60 hours of soft skills training in communication, teamwork, and career guidance.

The program is designed to make participants job-ready, with industry-recognized certifications and placement support. The initiative aims to help at least 70 percent of the cohort secure roles in the technology sector.

Bridging the Opportunity Gap

The Nasscom Foundation noted that the growing demand for AI and data science professionals is reshaping the future of work, underscoring the need for equitable access to continuous and industry-aligned skilling. The collaboration with NetApp seeks to bridge the opportunity gap, particularly for women and youth from underserved communities, by enabling them to develop digital and AI capabilities for an inclusive and future-ready economy.

Advancing India’s AI Ambitions

The NetApp–Nasscom Foundation program contributes to India’s goal of becoming a global hub for AI talent. By combining rigorous technical instruction with real-world exposure, the initiative will prepare a new generation of skilled, ethical, and employable professionals, broadening inclusion and strengthening India’s digital and AI-driven economy.
