Bengaluru: Zscaler has announced the acquisition of SPLX, an AI security company.
This move aims to enhance the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform with advanced capabilities in AI asset discovery, automated red teaming, and governance.
Expanding the Zero Trust Exchange for AI Security
With this acquisition, Zscaler will integrate SPLX’s technology into its Zero Trust Exchange platform, creating a unified solution to secure the entire AI lifecycle. The platform will combine SPLX’s AI-focused security tools with Zscaler’s data protection and threat intelligence to manage and secure sensitive data across prompts, models, and outputs.
Jay Chaudhry, CEO, Chairman, and Founder of Zscaler, stated that securing AI is essential to realizing its full potential. The integration will strengthen the company’s leadership in AI security and provide customers with the confidence to safely adopt and scale AI technologies.
The company also emphasized that AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers introduce new security demands that traditional tools cannot handle. By combining SPLX’s expertise, the company aims to deliver continuous monitoring and protection across the AI ecosystem.
Key Capabilities of SPLX Integration
According to the companies, the addition of SPLX will introduce several new layers of AI protection within Zscaler’s platform:
- AI Asset Discovery and Risk Assessment: Extends beyond public AI applications to cover private models, workflows, and repositories, including RAGs and MCP servers.
- Automated AI Red Teaming and Remediation: Conducts over 5,000 domain-specific attack simulations to detect vulnerabilities and recommend fixes in real time.
- AI Runtime Guardrails and Prompt Hardening: Enhances data protection by blocking malicious activity between AI apps and LLMs, adding deeper visibility into development environments.
- AI Governance and Compliance: Supports proactive security and compliance with governance frameworks to safeguard AI investments.
Strengthening AI Defense
According to Kristian Kamber, CEO and co-founder of SPLX, both companies share a mission to address the rapidly expanding AI attack surface. By combining SPLX’s innovative technology with Zscaler’s global security platform, the partnership is expected to deliver faster, more effective protection for enterprises embracing AI at scale.
