Vertiv to Acquire PurgeRite for $1 Billion to Strengthen Data Center Thermal Management Capabilities

Mumbai: Vertiv Holdings Co., a global provider of critical digital infrastructure, has announced an agreement to acquire Purge Rite Intermediate, LLC (PurgeRite), a specialist in mechanical flushing, purging, and filtration services for data centers and mission-critical facilities.

Expanding Vertiv’s Capability in Thermal Management

The acquisition will expand Vertiv’s capabilities in liquid cooling and thermal management services, positioning the company as a stronger global leader in next-generation cooling solutions for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data centers. The deal is expected to be margin accretive to Vertiv’s services business, which already operates at higher-than-average corporate margins.

PurgeRite’s Engineering Expertise

As part of the deal, PurgeRite will bring proprietary technologies and deep engineering expertise to enhance Vertiv’s ability to deliver complex liquid cooling applications. The company’s strong relationships with hyperscalers and Tier 1 colocation providers are expected further to reinforce Vertiv’s position in the mission-critical infrastructure ecosystem.

Vertiv CEO Gio Albertazzi stated that the acquisition marks a strategic expansion of the company’s fluid management capabilities, from design through maintenance. He added that PurgeRite’s specialized services will complement Vertiv’s portfolio and support the growing need for efficient thermal solutions in AI-driven data centers.

Delivering End-to-End Thermal Solutions

Once the transaction closes, PurgeRite’s services will integrate with Vertiv’s existing liquid cooling offerings to provide comprehensive, end-to-end thermal management solutions—spanning facility, room, row, and rack levels.

Customers are expected to benefit from enhanced system performance, reduced downtime risks, and global service scalability with consistent quality and execution standards. This acquisition strengthens Vertiv’s commitment to supporting the next generation of AI and HPC data center infrastructure.
