Bengaluru: US-headquartered Burkhan World Investment Group has announced plans to invest about Rs 1,500 crore in Karnataka to set up a manufacturing facility for advanced AI-powered servers.
The company has sought 10–15 acres of land near Devanahalli, which the state government has agreed to provide. According to Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil, the investment will create significant employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector and boost the state’s high-tech ecosystem.
High-Level Discussions Held in Bengaluru
MB Patil held discussions with Shafi Khan, CEO of The Ghazi Group (TGG), a subsidiary of Burkhan World, and his team at Vidhana Soudha to finalise details of the proposed investment. The meeting was also attended by Shiggaon MLA Yasir Ahmad Pathan, Dr Selvakumar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Industries, Dodda Basavaraju, Managing Director of Udyog Mitra, and C. S. Rao, Chairman of Quad-Gen.
Focus on Global Demand for AI Servers
The minister said the AI-powered servers to be produced in Karnataka are in high global demand, especially for data centres. Burkhan plans to export these servers to multiple countries, further positioning Karnataka as a key player in the global technology supply chain. The state government has assured full cooperation and directed officials to hold meetings on subsidies and incentives to support the project’s implementation.
Expanding Karnataka’s Advanced Electronics Base
Burkhan Group also intends to establish production facilities for advanced CPUs, GPUs, and AI-ready network switches in Karnataka. To achieve this, the company will collaborate with international technology partners such as Gigabyte and Cera Network. Patil said this investment will further strengthen Karnataka’s semiconductor, AI hardware, and advanced electronics ecosystem.
The group also plans to work closely with the Resolute Group and Quad-Gen in its manufacturing process. The initiative is expected to encourage local research and development, technology transfer, and partnerships with universities and industries across the state.
Centre of Excellence and Skill Development
As part of its long-term vision, Burkhan World will establish Bengaluru as its Centre of Excellence for operations serving India and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. The company also aims to launch specialised skill development programmes across Karnataka to train local talent in advanced manufacturing and AI-related technologies.
The minister said the state government looks forward to collaborating with Burkhan World across large industries, IT-BT, and the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sectors, reinforcing Karnataka’s position as a leading destination for high-tech investments.
