New Delhi: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its AWS Marketplace operations in India, allowing both local and global technology providers to list and transact in Indian Rupees (INR). The move is aimed at simplifying software procurement and compliance for Indian enterprises and startups while supporting domestic sellers, including Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and consulting partners.
With the new expansion, Indian customers can now purchase software and services directly in INR, benefiting from local invoicing and payment options. The initiative enables companies such as Cisco, CrowdStrike, Deloitte, Freshworks, IBM, Salesforce, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to list offerings for Indian clients under local tax compliance frameworks.
AWS Marketplace currently features over 30,000 transactable listings across 70 software categories, including security, AI tools, DevOps, and data analytics. The expansion is expected to ease procurement bottlenecks and help Indian organizations access advanced cloud, security, and AI technologies through a centralized, transparent platform.
According to AWS, the expansion aligns with India’s growing demand for efficient digital procurement systems as enterprises accelerate cloud adoption and AI-driven transformation. The company cited findings from a Forrester study, which estimated that organizations using AWS Marketplace achieve faster procurement cycles and improved cost efficiency.
Executives from AWS, TCS, Salesforce, and Sarvam noted that the development provides a stronger market route for local technology providers while enhancing accessibility for enterprise customers. The initiative positions AWS Marketplace as a key platform connecting India’s expanding tech ecosystem with enterprise buyers seeking cost-effective and compliant procurement options.
