New Delhi: NETGEAR and Riedel Communications have entered a global technology partnership aimed at improving IP-based signal distribution across broadcast, live events, and commercial AV environments. The collaboration reflects the broader industry shift toward AV-over-IP systems as organisations move away from traditional signal transport infrastructure.
Under the partnership, Riedel will integrate and carry NETGEAR’s M4350 series managed switches, starting with the M4350-16V4C model, to support its MediorNet MuoN A processing SFPs. This combination enables ST 2110 gateway functionality, which has become essential for decentralised and scalable media workflows. The companies said the integration is intended to simplify deployments as broadcasters and AV operators expand IP-native production environments.
The NETGEAR switch offers 25G SFP28 ports, 100G uplinks, and timing features aligned with SMPTE ST 2110 standards, making it suitable for low-latency transport and synchronisation requirements. Riedel noted that demand for stable and predictable network performance has increased as more live production, sports, and entertainment companies adopt distributed architectures.
Representatives from both companies said the partnership aims to address operational challenges that arise during large-scale IP transitions, including interoperability, timing accuracy, and configuring mixed-vendor networks. Industry analysts observe that such collaborations are becoming more common as organisations require pre-tested combinations of hardware and software to reduce deployment risk.
With AV-over-IP deployments expanding across global markets, the partnership signals an effort to offer integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of media and commercial AV sectors. Both companies plan to extend their technical roadmap to support additional IP-based production workflows in the coming phase.
