Indians Lose Rs 136 Crore To Visa Rejections; AI Platforms Like Visarun.AI Enter To Fix Delays

New Delhi, May 5(CXO Media): Indian travellers are facing rising visa rejections and costly delays.
New data shows Indians lost over Rs 136 crore in 2024 due to rejected Schengen visa applications, with rejection rates touching 18% overall and crossing 38% for some European countries. A major reason remains application errors, which account for nearly 45% of delays.

Rising Visa Problems For Indian Travellers
As outbound travel from India continues to grow, visa processing has emerged as a key hurdle. Long processing timelines, documentation errors, and interview rejections are slowing travel plans for tourists, students, and business travellers.
Dubai-based Visarun.AI has now entered India, offering an AI-led system that scans applications, flags errors, and predicts approval chances based on past visa data.

AI Tools Target Errors And Interview Performance
The platform uses machine learning and computer vision to verify documents against embassy requirements. It also includes a mock interview tool that analyses responses and facial cues to help applicants prepare for visa interviews.
Founder Alena Iakina said the goal is to reduce processing timelines from weeks to a few days by automating most steps, while keeping final verification manual.

Focus On High-Demand Destinations
The company is initially focusing on e-visa services for countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Vietnam, and Indonesia, along with complex applications like US B1/B2 and Schengen visas.
India’s outbound travel market is expected to grow sharply in the coming years, but visa inefficiencies remain a major friction point for millions of travellers.
