Air India International Flights Cancelled Till July Due To Fuel Shortage? Airline Breaks Silence On Viral Claim

New Delhi, May 13(CXO Media): A viral claim about Air India cancelling international flights triggered confusion among travellers. The airline says the information is false.

Social media posts claiming that Air India cancelled all international flights till July due to a fuel shortage sparked concern online this week, especially among passengers with upcoming travel plans. The claim quickly gained traction, raising questions about whether India’s flagship carrier was facing an operational crisis.

However, Tata-owned Air India has now issued a clarification, calling the reports “false, malicious and fabricated.” In a post shared on X, the airline said rumours about suspending international operations are baseless and urged passengers to check only official communication channels for travel updates.

The claim gained attention at a time when discussions around travel and fuel consumption are already in focus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently urged citizens to avoid non-essential foreign travel for one year as part of a broader push to reduce pressure on imports and foreign exchange spending.

Air India, however, has made it clear that the viral posts have no connection with its flight operations and that international services continue to run normally. The airline also warned travellers against relying on unverified social media claims that may create unnecessary panic.
