New Delhi: LTIMindtree has reshuffled its leadership, appointing Chief Operating Officer Nachiket Deshpande as Head of global AI Services.
Leadership Changes Under New CEO
The appointment comes as part of a broader leadership restructuring under newly appointed CEO Venu Lambu. Deshpande will oversee the AI business group, mergers and acquisitions, research and development and strategic partnerships, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Deshpande, who was considered a frontrunner for the CEO position before Lambu’s selection, will operate from New York. The role of COO, a key position in companies like Infosys and TCS, may not be continued at LTIMindtree.
Shift in Strategy for AI Services
In an internal letter dated 7 March, Lambu highlighted the evolving AI landscape and the company’s need to adopt a new strategy. “The evolution of a new AI stack over the last 18 to 24 months is bringing software and services paradigms closer together, creating new frontiers of opportunities,” he wrote.
Following the leadership shift, Chief Delivery Officer Ram Khizaamboor and Chief Growth Officer Krishnan Iyer will now report to Deshpande.
Background and Industry Context
Deshpande joined LTIMindtree in 2022 after the merger of L&T Infotech and Mindtree. Before that, he spent nearly two decades at Cognizant. His appointment reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its AI services amid growing competition in the sector.
LTIMindtree’s leadership changes signal a strategic push into AI, aligning with broader industry trends where IT firms are refining their AI capabilities to stay competitive.
