Jio, Airtel Push AI Integration with Google, Nvidia for Network, Business Expansion

New Delhi: India’s telecom giants Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are expanding their AI capabilities through partnerships with global tech firms Google and Nvidia. The collaborations focus on improving network efficiency, customer experience, and exploring new business opportunities in sectors like healthcare, geospatial mapping, and education.

Airtel’s AI Initiatives with Google

Bharti Airtel is working with Google to develop AI-driven solutions that integrate connectivity and artificial intelligence. Key areas of focus include:

  • Geospatial Mapping: AI-powered location intelligence to enhance mapping solutions.
  • Voice Analytics: AI models trained in multiple Indian languages to improve voice-based services.
  • High-Precision Ads: AI-driven targeted marketing solutions.
  • Anti-Spam Measures: AI for detecting and blocking spam messages and calls.
  • Predictive Analytics for Network Management: AI-driven insights to optimize network operations and self-healing mechanisms.
  • Green 5G Initiatives: AI solutions to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability.

Airtel aims to use these AI applications to enhance its operational efficiency and roll out AI-powered services across India.

Jio’s AI Expansion with Nvidia

Reliance Jio is working with Nvidia to develop AI language models for use in various sectors, including retail, agriculture, healthcare, and education. The company is also expanding its AI infrastructure:

  • Jio Brain: An enterprise AI and ML suite offering AI-as-a-service without requiring expensive infrastructure.
  • AI Data Centre: A 1GW AI data centre in Jamnagar to support internal and commercial AI projects, providing GPU-as-a-service for AI applications.
  • Proactive Network Monitoring: AI-powered monitoring system covering 95% of India’s population, designed to detect and resolve network issues before they impact users.

Jio is also expanding its AI talent pool, with a team of 1,000 data scientists and engineers working on AI integration. The company plans to launch Jio Brain in the coming months, focusing on AI solutions for businesses.
