New Delhi: Fortinet has expanded its FortiAI tools across its Security Fabric platform to support automated threat detection, secure AI adoption, and ease analyst workload.
Cybersecurity firm Fortinet has introduced a set of new AI-driven features under its FortiAI platform, now integrated across its Security Fabric. The company aims to improve threat detection, streamline security operations, and help organisations monitor the use of AI-based tools such as GenAI services.
Focus on AI Security and Threat Response
With the use of AI becoming widespread in both enterprise operations and cyberattacks, Fortinet’s latest upgrades address two growing concerns: the increasing sophistication of AI-led cyber threats and the risk of enterprise AI systems being compromised.
The updated FortiAI suite supports proactive threat management by using AI to detect, trace, and analyse security incidents. It also extends protections to AI systems themselves, helping organisations secure large language models (LLMs) and AI algorithms from manipulation, data poisoning, and unauthorised access.
Key Features: Automation and Autonomous Operations
Under the new rollout, Fortinet has introduced FortiAI-Assist, a feature that combines generative AI, agentic AI, and AIOps. The tool focuses on automation in both network and security operations.
Some notable capabilities include:
Agentic AI for Network Management: Enables AI-assisted configuration updates, policy validation, and issue remediation without human intervention. It also offers predictive issue resolution using AIOps for SD-WAN, wireless, and wired networks.
AI in Security Operations: Introduces automated alert triage, adaptive threat hunting, and AI-driven root-cause tracing. These features are designed to reduce analyst fatigue and improve response accuracy.
Threat Intelligence Enrichment: Uses pattern correlation and behaviour analysis to enhance threat detection capabilities and identify tactics used by attackers.
