GCC Summit Series by ICAI Underscores India’s Growing Global Influence

The GCC Summit Series, with the topic “From Ledger to Global Leadership: Chartered Accountants Shaping Global Capability Centers,” has been announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The first summit is scheduled for June 27–28, 2025, in New Delhi. Ahmedabad (GIFT City), Mumbai, and Hyderabad will host further summits.

This historic endeavor seeks to highlight the revolutionary role played by Indian chartered accountants in reshaping the global services landscape and to strengthen India’s standing as a worldwide hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs).

These facilities will support international activities in a variety of sectors, such as manufacturing, retail, healthcare, finance, and information technology.

“India has become the back office of the entire world,” said Charanjot Singh Nanda, President of ICAI. “Our members are redefining the GCC space. Chartered Accountants are leading digital finance, regulatory integrity, and governance across borders.”

The summit will foster dialogue between:
  • Industry experts
  • Policymakers
  • Chartered Accountants
  • Global stakeholders

“This summit is designed to serve as a platform for collaboration,” said Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI. “We aim to deliver insights and practical solutions that address current pain points and accelerate India’s evolution as a GCC powerhouse.”

The GCC Summit Series has received support from several leading bodies, including:
  • Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
  • Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
  • Invest India
  • IFSCA (International Financial Services Centres Authority)
  • NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation)
  • SEPC (Services Export Promotion Council)
  • IIM Sambalpur

These collaborations seek to assist capacity-building programs, promote policy advocacy, and facilitate ecosystem growth—all of which contribute to India’s supremacy in the GCC.
