New Delhi: Samsung has announced the expansion of its Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme, aiming to train 20,000 students across 10 states in 2025. This marks a sharp rise from 3,500 students trained last year and reflects growing demand for skills in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data analytics, and coding.
The programme will also include soft skills training to improve workplace readiness and provide placement assistance to help participants enter sectors such as technology startups, telecommunications, and manufacturing. To ensure wider access, particularly in underserved and semi-urban regions, Samsung is partnering with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC).
A major focus will be on Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, where 5,000 students from each state are expected to benefit. Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has trained 6,500 students, and this expansion represents an effort to address the digital skills gap while aligning with national programmes like Skill India and Digital India.
By scaling the Innovation Campus, Samsung is placing emphasis on employability and regional inclusivity, positioning itself within India’s broader push to develop a technology-ready workforce. With industry demand for AI, IoT, and data-related expertise increasing, the initiative reflects how corporate-led skilling efforts are becoming a key part of the country’s digital economy strategy.
