New Delhi: Optiemus Infracom has entered into a joint venture with the US-based design firm Ordinary Theory LLC to strengthen India’s position in smart hardware manufacturing. The partnership will focus on designing and producing enterprise hardware and industrial solutions for sectors such as fintech, logistics, retail and artificial intelligence.

Under the agreement, Optiemus will hold a majority stake and utilise its manufacturing facilities in India, while Ordinary Theory will provide design expertise and global technology experience. The collaboration aligns with government efforts to expand domestic production capacity under the Make in India and Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiatives.

According to the companies, the initiative is expected to generate jobs and contribute to skill development in India’s electronics ecosystem, which has been witnessing rapid growth amid rising demand for smart and connected devices.

Optiemus Chairman Ashok Kumar Gupta said the partnership is not limited to production but also covers market development and global distribution of India-designed products. Ordinary Theory CEO Shen Tianzhou added that the focus will be on introducing secure and scalable hardware solutions for the enterprise and fintech sectors to support India’s digital transformation.
