New Delhi: Zoomtopia 2025, held in New Delhi on October 7, 2025, brought together business leaders, technology experts, and industry innovators to explore how AI can simplify workflows and reduce digital fatigue. The theme, ‘How to Overcome Digital Overload with Agentic AI,’ set the tone for the day as Zoom unveiled its next-generation AI innovations.

In his keynote address, Sameer Raje, General Manager and Head – India & SAARC, Zoom, highlighted the growing challenge of digital overload. “Nearly 90% of professionals feel overwhelmed by the number of platforms they need to manage,” he said, referring to a report by Quickbase. He added, “Zoom’s mission is rooted in human connection. We are rethinking AI to truly support the way people work.”
Raje outlined Zoom’s AI journey, beginning with AI Companion 1.0, which offered basic meeting notes, followed by AI Companion 2.0, which used generative AI to extract deeper insights.
Launch of Zoom AI Companion 3.0: A Context-Aware Digital Assistant
The highlight of the event was the launch of AI Companion 3.0, Zoom’s agentic AI designed to be an AI personal assistant, offering a unified experience across different platforms.
AI Companion 3.0 is built on four core principles – Memory, Reasoning, Task Actions, and Orchestration. It retrieves context-aware insights, automates workflows, and integrates major platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Webex.

“It’s not just about attending meetings; it’s about understanding what you missed and what needs your attention,” explained Mehar Ullipalem, Head of Solutions Engineering, India & SAARC, Zoom, during a live demo.
Agentic AI skills will proactively “schedule meetings,” “free up my time,” and “prepare me for a meeting.” Agentic Prospecting via Zoom Revenue Accelerator, and Writing Assistant were showcased to demonstrate how Zoom AI Companion 3.0 can prioritize tasks, generate reports, and simplify client engagement.

In the session on ‘Innovate for Enterprise Productivity,’ Aayan Banerjee, Head of Enterprise Business, India & SAARC, Zoom, emphasized the operational slowdown caused by fragmented systems. “AI is not working for organizations the way it should because data is scattered and workflows are disconnected,” he said.
Zoom’s Custom AI Agent Builder was presented as a solution to integrate various apps and streamline workflows on Zoom Workspace.
A panel featuring Rohit Gupta, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO), College Vidya; Angad Wadia, COO, Bajaj Capital, and Irshad Saifi, Global CDIO, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., discussed AI adoption in their sectors.

Gupta said, “With Zoom Phone and Agentic AI, our quality checks are faster and conversions have improved.” He also highlighted a recent use case where Zoom AI Companion was integrated into a virtual university fair hosted through the platform. The event brought together students, parents, university officials, loan partners, and education advisors in a single digital space.
“We hosted our entire university expo on Zoom. With so many parallel sessions, it was impossible for our team to manually capture every discussion. Zoom AI Companion generated crisp session-wise summaries, helping us track key takeaways from each stakeholder interaction,” he shared. Gupta noted that this not only improved internal coordination but also helped the team follow up more effectively with leads and partner institutions after the event.
The panelists also discussed the current use cases of generative AI and its prospects in their work. Wadia shared that AI is helping the firm personalize retirement plans by analyzing customer data instantly.
Saifi noted that GenAI has reduced repetitive legal processes by 20–30%, and going forward, the firm plans to integrate AI into all its HR and IT processes.

Anand Bala, Sales Leader – Commercial & SMB, India & SAARC, Zoom, opened the session on ‘Small Business, Big Impact’ by highlighting Zoom’s growing impact in India, showcasing innovations like Zoom Phone, AI Companion, and Clips. He emphasized ease of use, scalability, security, and how AI-driven collaboration is empowering SMBs to do more with less.
In his presentation, Chandramouli TJ, Solutions Engineer, Zoom, demonstrated how Zoom AI Companion streamlines scheduling, collaboration, and productivity within the Zoom Workplace. Using a simple voice or text command, users can schedule meetings by checking multiple calendars, auto-generate agendas, attaching documents, and managing timelines, all without manual coordination.
He also showcased Zoom Docs, a unified workspace for brainstorming, project planning, and decision-making, where AI integrates meeting summaries and insights directly into documents. The demo highlighted how Zoom AI enhances efficiency, simplifies workflows, and unifies communication across teams in a single intelligent platform.
Swati Vasudevan, Managing Director, Khan Academy India (KAI), shared how the edtech platform is transforming education by providing free, high-quality learning in local languages to underserved students at scale. Using Zoom’s features like Simulive Webinars, Webinar Backstage, analytics, polls, and breakout sessions, KAI conducts large-scale teacher training, engages millions of students, and integrates STEM learning into government school curricula across multiple states, demonstrating measurable improvements in student outcomes and digital literacy.
Shahrose Bhat, Director of Admissions from Tetr College of Business, highlighted using Zoom for admissions and interviews.
Damanjeet Jolly, founder of Learning Lingos; Vijay Mahendru, Founder of Talentgum; Rajat Garg, Founder of BossCoder Academy; and Parth Patpatiya of GeeksforGeeks praised features like virtual backgrounds, auto-recording, meetings, and transcripts for enabling professional, scalable, and impactful digital learning experiences across India and beyond.
