MakeMyTrip Uses AI and User Data to Help Women Travellers Make Safer Booking Choices

Gurugram: MakeMyTrip is increasingly using technology, artificial intelligence and user-generated content to help women travellers make more informed and confident decisions across accommodation and intercity bus bookings.

Insights from behavioural data on the platform show that women tend to follow a more detailed evaluation process, spending more time on reviews, maps, street views and guest-uploaded photos before confirming a booking.

The data also reflects distinct booking patterns. Women book stays further in advance and show a higher preference for premium and branded properties, a trend that becomes stronger in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where trusted brands offer a sense of assurance.

On intercity bus routes, solo women travellers often prefer seating arrangements alongside other women.

To address these preferences, MakeMyTrip uses AI to surface women-focused cues such as safety-related reviews, staff behaviour and location context, along with specific amenities like CCTV and secure doors.

For bus travel, AI filters reviews from women travellers and restricts adjacent berths to women, adding an extra layer of comfort.
